About the Designer
Veeram Shah’s visit to the local flea market in Gujarat, where he discovered the most potent pieces of furniture, combined with Sona Reddy’s artistic vision, led to a collaboration that breathed new life into them. Their shared passion for preserving and enhancing the beauty of these objects fuelled a project that aimed to not only restore the furniture but also infuse it with fresh purpose and contemporary relevance.

This remarkable piece of furniture stands as a testament to the art of marquetry, a rare and intricate woodworking technique that weaves together a tapestry of geometric banding patters and elaborate designs using a rich palette of wood species, including satinwood, ivory, and rosewood. With a nod to tradition, this dresser boasts natural and traditional marquetry patterns that are reminiscent of the iconic art deco era, turning this piece into a prominent showcase of heritage and craftsmanship.
