About the Designer
Phantom Hands started off in 2014 as a monthly catalogue of curated vintage objects, a hobby project of our founders Deepak Srinath and Aparna Rao. Their furniture is a culmination of centuries of craft knowledge and skills, passed on from generation to generation. The name ‘Phantom Hands’ is an homage to the legacy of these past artisans whose contributions manifest in each of the piece made. They specialize in crafting contemporary furniture that is both design-driven and handmade.
Product Description
The Nandi Bench is a taller, narrower version of the Nandi Day Bed. It can be placed in a variety of settings—at the entrance, the dining table, or even at the foot of a bed. Its gently curved ends are bent, heat free, by slotting a small piece of wood into the larger piece. This simple but special woodworking method saves material and limits the amount of waste generated during production. It also lends the bench a singular decorative look.
A three-seater, the Nandi Bench comes with a light, hand-tufted, organic cotton mattress, upholstered in Zanav textile.
