Abhirup Dutta and Deeptashree Saha are driven by design intervention to distil culture and craftsmanship and create pieces of emotional resonance. Woodlabs specifically works with old demolition timber with the intention of giving this wood a second life and also harness the quality of wood which was once available.

The Kurma Sandhara Dining Table is where artistry meets exclusivity. The Limited series of Kurma Sandhara Dining Table is a part of a limited edition for Room Therapy and is a collaboration of Woodlabs x K. Mohan x Naisargi Buch.

A masterpiece of wood-inlay, featuring a life-like Tortoise gracefully swimming, surrounded by Lotus Leaves, Dragonfly and Fish inlayed on the organic shape of the wood. All the colours one see are the natural hues of indigenous wood species from Southern India, a nod to the rich biodiversity. Each Wood species have been carefully selected for its distinct colour and grain; ensuring the piece is a testament to the raw beauty of nature itself.

The use of live-edge slabs for the tabletop are a tribute to the raw beauty of wood, preserving the unique contours and natural edges of each tree; making no two table unique. This piece transcends furniture, becoming a true collector’s item and a source of admiration for years to come
